New domain 'Care home use at end of life' within the End of Life Care Profiles
A new domain has been added to the End of Life Care Profiles. This includes three new care home indicators: Care home bed rate; Nursing home bed rate and Temporary resident care home deaths. These indicators can be used to explore local trends in this data, make comparisons with neighbours or regions and download maps and area profiles.
Results of a national survey of support to adult care homes in England: A specialist palliative care provider perspective
This survey of organisations providing specialist palliative care services to care homes highlights the good work they do and identifies the key challenges they face. The report, commissioned by Public Health England, undertaken by the Marie Curie Research Centre at Cardiff University, with input from the National Council for Palliative Care and Hospice UK, examines the role of specialist palliative care in providing support to care homes in England.
