Research Summit 2015
Public Health England and NHS England brought together researchers, clinicians, funders and the public to better understand the palliative and end of life care research areas currently underway and to explore how to use research and knowledge generation to improve end of life care. The event was held on Thursday 15 January 2015.
The Palliative and end of life care Priority Setting Partnership together with the James Lind Alliance launched their top ten priorities at this event. They were established in 2013 to help patients and clinicians work together to prioritise areas for research.
The objectives of the summit were:
- To update on policy and roles in research, Public Health England and NHS England
- To gauge the extent to which current research can contribute to improving end of life care
- To launch the top research priorities identified by the Palliative and end of life care Priority Setting Partnership with the James Lind Alliance
- To identify areas and potential partners for future research
- To explore what is needed to get from knowledge generation to impact on practice
- To provide a networking opportunity for researchers, clinicians, funders, policy makers and the public
