Currently, two thirds of people die aged 75 or over. Almost three quarters are women (74.4%) and 58.4% are men. The age at which people die is increasing as people live longer. Already one in six people die aged 90 or over. This report highlights the importance of understanding the differing needs of older adults at the end of life, and the implications for their care.
