11 pilot sites were recruited to test the data collection in 2015/16. The pilot sites were chosen to represent a range of settings, geographical areas, services types (NHS and non NHS), IT systems, and experience of using outcome measures. These are:

  • Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
  • Forest Holme Hospice, Poole, Dorset
  • Greenwich and Bexley Community Hospice
  • King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
  • Marie Curie Hospice, Solihull
  • Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust*
  • Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
  • North London Hospice
  • Rennie Grove Hospice Care, St. Albans, Hertfordshire
  • St Luke’s Hospice, Plymouth
  • St Luke’s Hospice, Sheffield

*Note: Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust withdrew from the pilot early on. East Cheshire Hospice joined later in its place.

An evaluation of the pilots is planned for Summer 2016.
